2016 saw the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising, the Fine Gael led ‘Government’ afraid that this anniversary might radicalize the Irish population, decided to have an “equality of commemorations”.

This meant trying to equal the battle of the Somme with the Easter rising, and have official state commemorations for the crown forces who died during the Easter rising and erecting the ‘wall of shame’ in Glasnevin cemetery.

According to Fine Gael and the Glasnevin Trust etc all deaths are equal so those who died fighting for the Irish Republic are equal to those crown forces who died fighting against it.

This campaign was backed by certain anti Republican journalists in the Irish Times, Irish Independent and Belfast Telegraph.

We knew that they would try to do the same for the 100th anniversaries of the Tan War (Irish War Of Independence) and of partition which created the southern & northern states we have today.

So we decided to create the “Irish Revolutionaries” Facebook page which would remember the important anniversaries of famous battles and figures in Irish Revolutionary history.

Irish Revolutionary history began with the founding of the United Irishmen in 1791 and then includes the 1798 Rebellion, the 1803 Rebellion, the young Ireland rebellion of 1848, the Fenian uprising of 1867, the 1916 rising, the tan war, the Irish Civil war, operation harvest 1956-1962, and the 1981 hunger strike etc.

We remember Irish Revolutionaries such as Wolfe Tone, Robert Emmet, Thomas Davis, James Stephens, Padraig Pearse, Kevin Barry, Cathal Brugha, Sean South and Bobby Sands etc.

But almost immediately when we founded the page in May 2018 our page faced censorship especially when we broke the story that Fine Gael were planning to commemorate the hated Black and Tans.

So to counter the 100th anniversaries of Irish Republican Vols such as Kevin Barry, Terence Macswiney and events like Bloody Sunday in Croke Park, Fine Gael planned to officially commemorate the RIC and the Black and Tans in the former seat of British Rule in Ireland, Dublin Castle.

We started a petition that got 50,000 signatories, this was printed off and handed into the department of justice for Charlie Flanagan.

The state commemoration was postponed by Flanagan but a few days later our Facebook page was removed, it seems in revenge for starting this campaign. Some legal letters got the page restored but one year later our page was removed again.

Irish culture and Irish heritage including Irish music, Irish dancing, Irish Language, Irish Literature, traditional Irish sport like Gaelic football & hurling and ancient Irish history is very popular but Irish Revolutionary history is being censored.

People always ask us why this is the case and the answer is very simple.

Back in 2016 for the 100th anniversary of the 1916 rising it was reported that a young boy who had learned about the rising had written to the Queen of England requesting that she give back the six counties still under British Rule.

This is exactly what the corrupt 26 county state does not what to happen, they do not want people asking “is what we have today what so many fought and died for?” The simple answer to that question is no.

The two failed partitioned states we have today is a far cry from the 32 county Irish Republic that so many Irish Revolutionaries fought and died for.

The British & especially the Irish Establishment do not want people to question why we don't have the Irish Republic so this is why they try to water down important anniversaries like the 1916 rising, tan war and the Irish civil war.

They do not want people demanding Revolutionary change which a 32 county Irish Republic would bring.

We hope to see the Irish people at home and abroad download our app and have it high up in the rankings above the popular Irish apps like the Irish Times, Irish Independent, Irish lotto, Irish Radio, Irish Life, GAA etc.
