This application produces no sound.

This app displays the note names, as letters or as interval numbers, of any musical scale, chord, or individual note on the image of a piano keyboard. It switches between any display instantly, making it useful to compare and relate the different scales, intervals, etc.
It is built with many of the same features of my other app, Fretful, the guitar fretboard visualizer. These are primarily personal projects, self-help study tools, but I wanted to play developer a little bit, really need something to do, so they are here.

Brief instructions:

Most of it is self explanatory

In the upper left, there are control buttons for how the notes are displayed on the keyboard. "Background Notes" refers to the white notes. "Highlight Notes" refers to the colorful notes that are selected in the lower right buttons. The buttons beneath each category control whether the two types of displays are shown as letters or numbers. The "Highlight Notes" are shown on top of the "Background Notes", as the names imply.

In the lower right, on the "Diatonic" tab, tap once on one of the seven letters to highlight it on the keyboard. Double-tap to highlight the related chord. If you double-tap on the area above the number it will highlight the notes of a seventh chord. Each of the seven buttons has a lot of information shown on it. Looking at one button, from top to bottom, on the top is the name of the chord related to its interval, such as "major", "minor", or "dim." for diminished, then underneath is the interval type, "P" for "P"erfect, as in Perfect 4th, "M" for "M"ajor, as in Major 2nd, and "m" for "m"inor, as in minor 2nd, "A" for "A"ugmented, and "d" for "d"iminished, then there are the interval numbers, such as 4th, 2nd, etc., and then the note letter.

In the "Custom" tab of the lower right area, there are the same notes as displayed in the "Diatonic" tab. On this tab, the numbers displayed above the letters show how many half steps above the root/tonic note the related note is. So, for example, on the default, C Major, it says +2 above D. This means that the D is 2 half steps above the tonic C. The +4 above E means that note E is 4 half steps above the tonic. Above G, +7 means that the G is 7 half steps above the tonic. Etc. The small white numbers between each note in this tab indicate how many half steps are between each note. You may recognize the 22122(1) of the major scale. I hope so. The buttons above and below each note change the structure of the diatonic scale in the "Diatonic" tab, and the numbers in this "Custom" tab change in response.

The "Chromatic" tab simply displays all 12 notes of the chromatic scale, with the currently selected root note as the tonic note of a chromatic scale, with all sharps, flats, double sharps, and double flats adjusted to fit to the selected root note. These buttons ignore the selected "Scale". It's chromatic.

The "Chords" tab provides buttons in a convenient layout to display all types of chords. The first grouping provides buttons to highlight all the notes of common triad chords. The second grouping does the same for seventh chords. Beneath these, there are buttons to highlight the notes of suspended 4th and suspended 2nd chords, with or without the 7th added. Next to all these buttons, under the word "Add" are buttons to highlight extended chord intervals, 9ths, 11ths, and 13ths, on top of the already selected chord. The "Keep Background" button will stop the "Background Notes", the white notes, from changing at all, so that you can display different highlighted chords on top of any scale.

In the lower left area, there is the root note selector as well as the scale selector. This is self explanatory. There is also a button to the right of the scale selector that is unlabeled. That button causes the keyboard to take the width of the screen, or to return it from the width of the screen.
