1. Install the Extension:
Download and install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
2. Access the Extension:
Click the puzzle piece icon in the Chrome menu bar to find Genea FamilySearch Auto-Blur. For frequent use, pin the icon to the Chrome menu bar by clicking the pushpin icon next to the extension name.
3. Activate Blurring:
By default, blurring is off. Click the Genea FamilySearch Auto-Blur icon to activate the blurring effect. When active, a red border will appear around the extension icon, and the \"ab\" text in the icon will look blurred. Sensitive items on FamilySearch pages will now be blurred.
4. Disable Blurring:
Click the extension icon again to disable the blurring effect. The red border will disappear, and the \"ab\" icon text will become clear. Reload the page to remove the blurring effect.
5. Add Custom Names for Blurring:
You can blur custom names in your family tree by right-clicking the Genea FamilySearch Auto-Blur icon in the Chrome menu bar and clicking on \"Options\". You can enter in custom first and last names and click save to have those individuals blurred.
