* It will also show you if the model is CR \"recommended\" or a \"best buy\" (a product that delivers best value with solid performance).
* If a product is a “don’t buy” or has a safety warning, it will automatically let you know so you can stay safe and informed.

Consumer Reports is an independent, nonprofit member organization that works side by side with consumers for truth, transparency, and fairness in the marketplace.

Mark Fowler (ID: 000000634cb83510) Voted 3 ★ - Updated 12/01/2020 The CR extension constantly nags you to sign-in. This is the only extension that ask me sign it each time I open Chrome. I like the extension, but find this annoying to the point I have disabled it until I need it.

Alex Kourakos (ID: 00000042fc2740bb) Voted 2 ★ - Updated 08/14/2019 Still has generic landing page, and ratings for items I know have been tested are not showing up. Hopefully everything get worked out and this can be put to good use. Still nice to have for copy and pasting from the site.

HollySnoop&Fuzzy (ID: 00000061971814f0) Voted 4 ★ - Updated 07/26/2019 The App. has worked seamlessly for me (fingers crossed). I downloaded, installed, found the green, CR button up top, logged-in, all in 6 minutes on a very old 2009 Sony PC. Alas, I've given it 4 Stars, not 5, due to an in-general, issue I'm having with CR Recommendations which I'm coming up against more often over the past couple of years. I chose the "Recommended July's Deep Discounts", found exactly what I needed, Kitchen Appliances, Refrigerators,(I'm on a roll, baby) chose Top Freezers -then, and right out of the gate, in the three, most critical Categories: Customer Satisfaction, Reliability, Ease of Use, are rated by consumers , the dreaded RED, Downward, Double v's, or yellow lines, etc. So here's the rub, how can I trust CR when it happens so frequently that "Recommended" products are actually products which Members are not recommending? OK, I get it, I've digressed. The App. works perfectly as I have 'Now Entered The CR Confusion Zone' more quickly.

David Walton (ID: 000000ee2e08f2e3) Voted 1 ★ - Updated 11/23/2018 I was not able to get this extension to work. When installed, it placed a nice looking CR logo next to the address bar. When clicking on the logo (after logging in to my CR account) it gave me a generic landing page. I tested it by searching for a model that has been tested by CR. When the model was shown in the Home Depot or Best Buy website, there should have been rating information shown when clicking on the extension. But I only got the generic landing screen. I might as well open another browser window and look up the product that way. Maybe when they get this app working I'll have a better review, but right now the app is just a waste of time, for me. Browser is Chrome running on an iMac. Ideally, when a category or rated model is detected in your current browser window, the icon should change to alert you that CR has something to say about it. Then clicking on the icon would take you directly there--a real timesaver. Until then, I'm removing the app.
