Transcriber Extension

English language pronunciation can be tricky. Word pronunciation may differ from the spelling. Learn the correct pronunciation by reading any text you like in phonetic transcription!

Using the extension is very easy, just watch tutorial video (30 seconds of time).

If you are a language learner, start practicing, and you will learn how many words you are misspelling every day.

This extension replaces words on a page with its phonetic transcription (so \"the quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog\" becomes \"ðə kwɪk braʊn fɑks dʒəmps óʊvɜr ə léɪzi dɔg\"). Just open any webpage and click the extension icon on a browser toolbar to convert text of a webpage (you can always click again to return the original text back).

This extension uses International Phonetic Alphabet. You can learn how to read IPA alphabet by following the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/English
Also, you can use extension word pronunciation feature to learn IPA, just click on a transcribed word to listen how it sounds.
