Don’t Watch Later Extension

A simple Google Chrome extension to disable autoplay for videos from your YouTube Watch Later playlist.

I usually open videos in a new tab from my Watch Later playlist, which automatically has the `list=WL` querystring parameter. I also don’t usually watch videos in the order I added them to my Watch Later playlist. Instead of trying to hack YouTube’s massive amounts of JavaScript, this plugin does exactly what I need.

This extension doesn't track any of your data usage, and is open sourced at https://github.com/shakeelmohamed/dont-watch-later

Lisa Lavandula (ID: 000000a5287dcd3b) Voted 5 ★ - Updated 09/07/2020 Does exactly what I wanted it to, which is playing a video from my Watch Later, instead of loading the whole list, enabling YouTube to run a lot faster for me.

James Braden (ID: 0000006b275f64d7) Voted 2 ★ - Updated 01/27/2019 Not quite what I was looking for. I use playlist to group videos, but don't want it to go to the next one once I finish a video. I was hoping this extension would simply prevent from loading the next video in the playlist, but sadly it just takes redirects you to the basic non-playlist URL.

Bill Price (ID: 0000005e4f3027a0) Voted 5 ★ - Updated 02/19/2016 When you click on a video in your Watch Later playlist, this extension makes the video load as a single independent video, not as a "playlist" video, and thus prevents the next video in your Watch Later list from autoplaying. Perfect!
