Preview your Icons Extension
Creating small icons for Chrome extensions can be tricky. The challenges come from factors like the limited space available, the uncertain background theme color of the Chrome window, and the need for precise visual testing. To get the best results, multiple iterations of testing, comparison, and selection are often necessary. There's no better way to fine-tune icons than by directly testing them on an actual Chrome window. This is the reason for creating this tool. Whether you're a designer, design manager, or software lead, you could be a potential user.
How to Use
After installation, click the icon to open the main page of the app.
Start by clicking the \"Pick Local File\" button on the left to select a local icon file. Alternatively, you can paste from the clipboard by pressing Cmd-V or Ctrl-V, if you have an image in your clipboard. This feature is particularly useful when you're working with design software to create icons.
Next, simply click on an item from the icon list on the right to preview it in the app.
You can also adjust the icon size and change the background color of the page to get a better overall view of different icons.
If you need to make small edits to the icon, such as resizing, repositioning, cropping, or rotating, the built-in editor provides simple tools for these tasks.
