A simulation for developing an intuitive understanding of graphs of positon, velocity and acceleration.
Graphs and Tracks Application
Graphs and Tracks is an educational program designed to help you develop a better understanding of motion graphs. Using animation of a ball rolling along sloping tracks, you are invited to set up an arrangement that generates given challenge graphs.
You may have already been introduced to the topic of graphs and motion in a physics class, but you may want practice applying the concepts of position, velocity and acceleration to real motions. Graphs and Tracks provides that practice and makes learning about graphs and motion a playful activity.
A tutorial guides you through the program. A Practice section helps you get comfortable using the program. Challenges are arranged from Easy to Hard, with hints available upon request. Once you have mastered the program, you can make up new examples and email them to others.
