Put simply, Route 50 is a huge Pokémon community dedicated to bringing fans - new and old - together. Route 50 began in the early days as a first step into \"websites\" by the 11-year old Kat, naming it \"Notwututhinkitis.\" In time, it evolved into \"Torchic's Forest\", then \"Eevee's Shrine\", and eventually \"Eevee's Headquarters\" where it stayed for many years.
The first years or Eevee's HQ (EHQ) featured average 3-column layouts and content. It was during this time that, very slowly, the community began growing. Through the years, Kat developed her web design skills and began learning PHP. On May 15, 2007, \"version two\" of Eevee's Headquarters was released, bringing with it a scratch-coded membership system and forum.

Kat met Navarr, who is an admin today, through an affiliation with his project PokéQuesT. After some time, she decided to re-program the site due to shoddy coding (during this time, a strange person named \"Electron\" sent her a bbcode script that confused the hell out of her). Putting up a job posting for some coding help, perhaps the luckiest possible thing happened in the entire history of Route 50, and Electron sent her an(other) email.
He was hired before Kat even finished the email, and thus the team was complete: Kat, Navarr, and Electron! Best pals! Version 3 of Eevee's HQ was underway, and it took forever. When it was finally released, it was pretty amazing, bringing a plethora of new features to the community.

From there, a long time passed before they began developing \"version 4.\" It was during this time that the admin trio decided it was time for a change. If they were to develop an RPG (ahrem) and a broader community, they would have to move beyond the association with \"Eevee\", and Route 50 was born.
