FITS image viewer for astronomy
simpleFITS Application
This is a simple viewer for astronomical FITS images, which it can load from your local disk. FITS is a standard file format used by professional and advanced amateur astronomers.
At present it will just display an image and the associated FITS header from the first HDU. It allows basic image colour map manipulation, panning and zooming.
The app requires webGL to work. This is generally the case with Chrome, but there is a risk it won't work with old installations.
Any feedback is appreciated.
