# MergeX - Chrome Tab Management Tool

## Features & Usage

### 1. Merge Tabs (MERGE)
- Click the \"MERGE\" button to combine all tabs from different windows into the current window
- Pinned tabs will remain in their original windows
- After merging, you'll see a green checkmark (✓) indicating success

### 2. Sort Tabs (SORT)
- Click the \"SORT\" button to organize tabs by domain name
- Tabs from the same domain will be placed next to each other
- Pinned tabs will stay at their original positions
- Active tab position will be maintained
- A success indicator will show the number of sorted tabs

### 3. Group Tabs
#### By Time (GROUP BY TIME)
- Groups tabs based on their last access time
- Creates two groups:
- \"> 1 day\": Tabs not accessed in the last 24 hours
- \"> 3 days\": Tabs not accessed in the last 72 hours
- Active and pinned tabs are excluded from grouping

#### By Domain (GROUP BY DOMAIN)
- Groups tabs from the same domain together
- Each group gets a distinct color
- Only creates groups for domains with multiple tabs
- No group names are displayed for a cleaner interface
- Active and pinned tabs are excluded from grouping

### 4. Ungroup Tabs (UNGROUP)
- Removes all tab groups in the current window
- Tabs remain in their current positions
- Quick way to return to ungrouped state

## Tips
- You can access MergeX by clicking its icon in the Chrome toolbar
- The extension shows success/failure indicators with the number of processed tabs
- Green checkmark (✓) indicates successful operations
- Red cross (×) appears if an error occurs
- Indicators disappear after 3 seconds
- Pinned tabs are preserved in their original state during all operations
- Active tabs are excluded from grouping operations

## Privacy

If you ever need to manually install a mergeX extension for Chrome, don't worry, it's a simple process. Just follow these easy steps, and you will have your extension ready to use in no time.

Step 1: Download the mergeX Extension by clicking the "Download CRX" button on the website.

Look for the mergeX extension you wish to install. Go to the website and download the mergeX extension package, which is usually a .CRX file and comes in a zipped file. Here ".crx" file is the format for mergeX extension that contains all the data.

Step 2: Extract &Arrange Files

Once the file is downloaded, extract that file into its own folder. Similarly, give that extension files a permanent home. In other words, keep it in a folder that you don't accidentally delete it because these files will be needed to make that extension work.
