TTEK Observations Application
I believe that educators should have free tools available to them to help them meet the needs of their students. This is especially true for special education teachers who frequently observe and collect student behavior data. I also believe that the observation data collected should be easily accessed and controlled by the person doing the observations.
This app uses a Google Sheet that is owned and controlled by the user. The information in the spreadsheet is used to create a customized observation checklist. The observation data is stored in the same spreadsheet and can be immediately used to see trends and summarize behavior data without the need to transcribe information from paper. If the Google Sheet is shared between educators and other staff, the observation information is immediately available to everyone as soon as it is recorded. I (the developer) do not have access to any of the information in your Google Sheets or any of your other documents unless you specifically share it with me. I also do not collect any personal information about you. The only thing I collect is the sheet ID you use with the app so I know how many returning users there are.
The app works in the most recent version of Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Safari on pretty much any device, including desktops, laptops, tablets, iPads and smart phones with internet connectivity.
The application was built to help special education (SPED) teachers and staff conduct behavior observations for functional behavioral assessments (FBA) and individualized education programs (IEP). However, all the observation checklists can be customized for any type of observation. For instance, it has been used to observe patient, nurse and doctor workflow in a clinic with 5 observers simultaneously capturing observation data. The workflow observations can then be used for process improvement in lean six sigma or BPR projects.
This web app was originally created as part of a master's thesis project. If you are an educator I would love to get your input to see if it has made a difference and so I can continue to improve the application.

Version 3
Version 3 has added more chart features.
All the charts can be filtered for a specific date range or subject (student).
The first chart can be customized to show your pick of dimensions and measures.
----------------
Version 2
Version 2 comes with some great new additions. Charts have been created within the application itself so you don't need to build them in the spreadsheet. You simply scroll to the bottom of the app and click the \"Show Data Charts\" button. You can view all the charts for a specific student or for all the students in your spreadsheet.
The charts included are as follows:
Behavior by week
Behavior by antecedent
Behavior by consequence/result
Behavior broken out by categories
Total duration of each behavior
In addition to the charts, a detailed table is included that is more condensed than the spreadsheet and easier to print or copy into your IEPs or other documents.
