Seems like it has some decent storylines to it, voice acting. The UI is incredibly convoluted and kind of a mess. The in game art and mechanics are boring 2d pixel style. + + I don’t see wanting to play this game if Watcher of Realms exists.
Still good years later

Feels bad I lost all my progress. Had a lot of characters on my old account. Ah well. Still a good game. The most popular tower defense game I know of. Good luck to you guys in your future updates.
Potential

Unfortunately, if you didn’t start 5 years ago, you might as well as never start at all. The game is cut-throat and unwelcoming to new players. I’ve had the game for a few months and definitely dropped some money on it. Still, I’m beyond dry on resources barely even able to clear these simple events having to spend half a day on the last map. I should NOT have to spend half a day playing an auto gacha. + As my d1 whale friend describes it, “it’s f2p, it’s just time gated” and that time was 5 years ago. You’re going to miss out on every collab and event limited rewards and the game difficulty is specifically adjusted to people who have been playing for years as you feel the limits of your levels and selection operators slowly closing in around your throat. + This game is a nightmare for new players. Words cannot describe how far back you’ll be set if you don’t spend money (and still not catch up) as a new player. You will never catch up. NEVER. + If only they had more than 5iq and forgot about their hate for new players, then maybe they’d say “oh, we should make a catch up system! It won’t completely catch them up, but it will make new players feel as though it’s easy to jump into the game!” + + And do not be ignorant and tell me to email you guys for suggestions. If you can’t take any feedback from this, a literal review, then you truly do have 5iq.
Love the game but…

I love this game it’s so much fun and the characters are made amazingly but they make the events way to difficult. I always feel like I’m missing out on so many fun things because my characters are strong enough.
No respect for player time

While gacha games frequently have a bad reputation, Arknights earns some of it. The gacha system itself feels fairer than other games but the balancing for 6* operators seems ridiculous at some points. + + My biggest gripe with the game is its lack of respect for my time. Many gacha games (for example: Blue Archive and Nikke) have “sweeping” where you can instantly, automatically redo levels for farming purposes, Arknights only has this for their longest levels (generally 15-20 minutes) while for normal levels, you can only get an automated replay. What this means is, if a level takes 3 minutes to complete and you want to complete it 4 times, your phone will be busy for 12 minutes, automatically replaying the level, just wasting battery while any other reasonable game would’ve taken 10 seconds. + + The story is written in a very verbose way that some might call “bloated” or “say nothing” (particularly event stories) whether or not that is your cup of tea is purely subjective. The reason I do mention it is that the length of the story compounds other problems of the game, namely the lack of text options. I am not against reading novels but I am against reading novels with a tiny font on a small phone screen. Also, some of the text is just blocked by the home bar, which seems like a fairly obvious oversight. One has to question whether the devs play their own game on an iPhone or they just give the writers word targets and then publish. + Lastly, what happens when you touch the screen mid sentence is not consistent, during some story, it just completely skips it when I really just wanted to skip the process of waiting for all of the text to appear. During the recruitment, touching the screen does nothing until the character finishes saying their introduction (which for being something you’re expected to do multiple times per day, is another testament to how Arknights doesn’t care about your time).
