This app from phone connected to camera is useless. I am ready to trash this and find a camera that will work. I love the pictures it takes and how small it is to carry, but who cares if you can never transfer the photos to your phone. And I did transfer to my computer which took me hours to figure out how to get them back to my phone. Now it wants a firmware update and I can’t access any pictures on the camera without hooking up to my laptop. Because of the firmware update needed, it keeps dropping the WiFi. Also, I can find how to download the firmware from the website to fix my camera. There has to be a better way.
Great camera terrible app
By Dschlosser15
I bought this camera and the sea dragon light frame. Both work awesome the only unfortunate thing is that accessing the camera to get images off onto a mobile device is absolutely terrible. In 2025 this is kind of an unacceptable thing for technology and where the GoPro actually does way better job. I’d suggest sea life get it together and fix their apps and make it easier to put things into your photo stream on whatever device you have.
It works, but…
By Greg6562
Read several reviews saying the app was basically useless. Some of their complaints are either not valid, or no longer valid. But, the app is still of very limited use. + + Following the FAQs, I turned off cellular data and Bluetooth. The app connected via WiFi, and I was able to select multiple photos and videos to transfer simultaneously. And the photos and videos were transferred to my iPhone’s photo library. + + The down side: it probably took 15 minutes to transfer 2 10-second videos and 6 JPEGs. I didn’t time it, but it was very slow. I have an iPhone 14 connected to the micro 3.0. It also heavily drained my phone’s battery. This is a vastly different experience than I have transferring wirelessly from my GoPro, where the same thing would have taken seconds. + + Either the micro 3.0 has an exceedingly slow and weak WiFi chip, or the app has an extremely poor WiFi implementation. + + And, yes, I have the latest firmware on the micro 3.0, the latest version of the app, and the latest version of iOS.
One small pic at a time
By nicklutz
This app is not very friendly. Yep, you discovered it, it only downloads 1 pic/vid at a time… don’t search the list very long, the camera Wi-fi will disconnect. The must have download all function was not in the cards for this app. One would think the SeaLife folks would get it together…
Too basic of an app
By MGiacomet
This app is just a marketing ploy to be able to say “we too, have an app”… + + Too basic to be useful. Can’t rotate the iPhone so pictures/movies occupy the whole screen. + + I wish SeaLife made their cameras able to download pics to a computer.
