Overview
This application uses speech recognition and speech synthesis to simulate radio communication between a light aircraft pilot under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and Air Traffic Services (ATS).
It listens to your spoken requests and responds appropriately.
It goes from an introduction to the phonetic alphabet all the way to complex interactions requesting traffic services etc.
It has Demonstration, Practice and Realistic modes that guide you through what to say and then challenges you to try it for yourself in a realistic way.
It is inspired by international aviation standards, with options to use USA, UK or ICAO style phraseology where they differ.
It is made up of a collection of Scenarios that provide Overview information, demonstration and practice Interactions for various typical Situations. A Scenario would be something like ‘Position Reporting’ and there may be several different Situations with varying details as examples of that Scenario, so your location, time, level, destination etc. would vary, and these are chosen appropriately but randomly by the computer.
