Overview
iSpeed is your ultimate TALKING speed assistant
REAL TIME SPEED LIMIT TRAFIC SIGN RECOGNITION
• Using the device camera, iSpeed scans for speed limit signs on the road while you are driving.
• When a speed limit sign is recognised, the voice assistant alerts the driver announcing the speed limit (e.g. “Speed Limit Fifty”).
• The sign scanning can be enabled/disabled by tapping the button “Camera”
• Can recognise only speed limit signs, which are displaying the limitation within a red circle.
• For better recognition move the zoom slider up to the maximum value supported by the device.
REAL TIME SPEED TRACKING
• Using the device embedded GPS sensor or external Bluetooth OBD2 adapter, iSpeed tracks the speed and displays the data on the device screen.
• The voice assistant alerts the user, when the speed reaches the next higher speed range (e.g. If the previous speed reading is 48km/h and the new value is 52km/h the assistant announces “Fifty-two”). This way the user always knows their current speed range (e.g. 50-60km/h, 60-70km/h, etc…), without the need to check the vehicle speedometer.
• To select the device embedded GPS sensor as a speed data source, tap “GPS” button.
• To select an external Bluetooth OBD2 adapter as a speed data source, tap “OBD2” button.
• To display and announce the speed in miles per hour, tap on the “MPH” button.
• The iSpeed current speed value can differ from your vehicle speedometer. The reason is that iSpeed is showing the “true” speed and most of the car manufacturers deliberately calibrate their speedometers to show higher value than the true vehicle speed.
LUCY
• When enabled Lucy is waiting for voice commands.
• On voice command “Lucy, speed”, Lucy replies with the current speed (e.g. “60”).
• Tap “Lucy” button to enable/disable Lucy.
USAGE
• iSpeed was designed primarily to assist vehicle drivers and help to prevent speeding. It helps the drivers to focus on the road instead checking the speedometer all the time.
• iSpeed also can be used in many sports where knowing the current speed is valuable (e.g. biking, skiing, snowboarding, running etc…)
