Play movies and tv shows in multiple tabs on your computer. Use playlist templates for randomised playback.

Overview

Noob Media Center lets you play TV shows and movies on your computer with multiple tabs, you can organize your movie and tv show library, create playlist templates and create smart playlist templates for randomized episode playback by color tags. You can assign color tags to TV shows which can allow you to generate smart templates from a playlist template which will create a generalization of your playlist template by analyzing color tag connections and let you get the feeling classical TV (similar shows being grouped together and a consistent flow from show to show). Noob Media Center uses a random number generator based on chaotic motion for randomization quality. To start with you can open the TV show library and movie library by pressing the buttons below the new tab and close tab buttons with the movie and screen icon. From there you access settings and add library source locations. You can have multiple library sources for example if you have multiple external drives you can index each TV show folder. The TV show folder directory structure is expected to be: SOURCE > TVSHOWNAME > episodes or other folders So each sub directory of the selected source folder is added as a tv show and then all subfiles as added in each folder. Folders are added in the alphabetical order of the full path so that episodes in tv shows where order matter should be organized in an appropriate way for example: s01e01-show-title.mp4 TV show playback order can be set in playlist templates, however smart templates always play tv shows in a randomized order. TV shows from each library source are added to the same tv show with the same name, for example if you have showA on two different external drives with different episodes, it will be listed under the same show in your library. You can playback individual shows by accessing the browse library pane and pressing play. You can also browse individual episodes to add to your currently open tab playlist, there you can also deactivate shows from being played in the rotation of episodes. The global pause button automatically pauses playback when switching between tabs, this can be useful if you don't want to miss anything. When disabled playback works like television and plays back each tab even when its not active.
