Overview
The CDBS Facility Query is a tool for querying the FCC's Commercial Database System (CDBS), a system used by broadcasters to submit filings. The files from this database are public and were processed into a database embedded within the app. This app allows viewing AM, FM, or TV facilities by state with sorting by frequency/channel, city, or callsign. Toggling between active and all facilities (off-air, cancelled license, etc.) is available as well. Selecting a facility then displays details, such as the address information of the facility, network affiliates, parties associated with the facility, etc.
This app was written by Comprehensive Custom Software, LLC to demonstrate the following techniques:
-Multiple page app (due to differences, pages for AM, FM, and TV)
-Use of the "hamburger" menu to select the desired broadcast category
-Data storage in an embedded SQLite database
-Use of the SQLite-Net PCL wrapper to access the database
-Binding to element properties (sets the color of the status block, hides interface items until loaded, etc.)
-Data sorting and filtering
-Continued progress in implementing MVVM design
