This app allows you to define a psychrometric process, consisting of a sequence of points and actions (e.g. cooling, heating, humidifying, mixing air, etc). Then you simulate this process by applying a climate file to it, containing hourly data for each day of the year. Finally you can analyze the results by selecting different tabular views with heating and cooling capacity data or to click on a process point in a psychrometric diagram to get all psychrometric data from it. And finally, you create an exhaustive report on the screen and in a pdf file showing the process, the climate file and the simulation results.

Overview

This unique app allows you creating, simulating and analyzing psychrometric processes in three simple steps: 1. Create a psychrometric process by combining actions such as heating, cooling, humidifying, heat exchanging, mixing air, …etc. 2. Select a climate file with climate records for each hour of the year. There are climate files for each capital of the world, but you can also create your own. 3. Apply the climate records to the process, simulate the different actions and analyze the results. The app shows you the results in tables at different levels of details, but also on a dynamic psychrometric or Mollier diagram: click on any process point in the diagram to get all information about the air condition of that point. Look up a specific period (hour, day, month, year) and instantly get the required heating and cooling capacities within that period, but also the hour during which there was a maximum need of capacity. To define a psychrometric process, you have several actions at your disposal, which you can apply between two or more psychrometric points: - Saturate: cools air from a given psychrometric point to a saturation point at 100% relative humidity. Enter a sensible heat factor (SHF) to let the app calculate the resulting saturation point. - Condensate: cools the air along the saturation line and dries it through condensation. - Heat: heats air using a given capacity, up to a given temperature or to a given psychrometric point. For the first two options, the app calculates the target point. - Cool: cools air using either a given capacity and sensible heat factor (SHF) or up to a given psychrometric point. - Humidify: humidifies air through steam or water evaporation, using a given humidification amount or up to a given psychrometric point. - Mix air: mixes air adiabatically from two sources resulting in a mixed air condition. - Heat exchange: heat or cool ambient air using the exhausted room air. You can choose between a total heat exchanger and a sensible one. Even better, you can also define the characteristics of the heat exchanger. There are also two specific actions: - Fixed or dynamic psychrometric points. Dynamic points change each time a new climate record is applied to a process, where fixed points define a steady air condition (e.g. the room air condition). - Thermostat: a conditional action deciding whether to use a cooling, a heating or ventilation process. It uses temperature and humidity limits to select the process in use. To let you take off in no time, the app offers demo projects. There is also a manual with a detailed explanation, that you can download for free. This is definitely the tool you need as an air conditioning professional.

Features

Use demo projects to start from and use them as a template for more complex projects.Find a manual on https://www.micriconsult.be/Manuals/PsychroTools_UsersManual.pdfClick the explain tab to get a short explanation of a calculation or a diagram.Select one of the five languages (English, French, German, Spanish and Dutch) in the preferences screen.Choose one of the diagram types (Psychrometrics or Mollier) and select the lines to display.Choose between metric or imperial unit dimensions, e.g. °C and °F or kW and BTU/h.Define parameters for heat exchangers.Select colors for the psychrometric diagram, the climate graphs and the report headers.Supports light and dark themes. The app saves your latest settings and starts up with those settings.
