Overview
Radioactive decay is the process by which an unstable atomic nucleus loses energy by radiation. The decay equation is dN/dt = -λN. The time required for half of the original population of radioactive atoms to decay is called the half-life. This simulator is an excellent tool to visualize the above principles.
